She refused to allow him to witness her terror. She could do this. When she took his outstretched hand, desire coursed through her and nearly buckled her legs. Was this her illness? Or had the fever returned? A peace filled her in his presence, and she wasn’t
scared when he tugged her hand.
Glittering water caressed her thighs, then reached her stomach as they waded. When a wave hit her chest, she took her gaze off Damon, realizing how far out she’d come. How had he gotten her to take his hand and block her panic? No one had ever succeeded at getting her into water over her knees without her clawing, kicking, and screaming. Yet when she looked at him, calm drifted into her. What possessed her to trust him and wade out this far? She had to leave. Had to get back to shore.
“Careful.” Concern filled his eyes. “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine.” The sudden thought of Damon nearly kissing her made her anger flare and her words come out sharper than she intended. He wasn’t someone to lose herself with. If he discovered her fear of water, would he tease her about it? Tell everyone?
“The rocks can be slippery here. Let me help you.” He grasped her elbow.
“I’m okay.” She pulled away, but the stone was slick beneath her feet. God, why had she come out this far? Terror clawed at her throat. Her legs shook as her breathing raced.         Water splashed up against a boulder to her left, bringing back the image of her dad’s face and the way his dead eyes stared into hers. On a ride through the rapids, she’d been thrown off. Her father leapt into the churning water after her and helped her scramble
onto a rock. The next time she gazed at her dad, he lay in his casket.
Rather than let Damon discover her phobia, she plunged ahead and tripped on a mass of rocks hidden below the surface. She yelped before water crashed over her head and she sunk to the bottom of the river.

This week’s theme is My Sexy Wild. This is about that guy who makes your heart flutter when he walks into the room.

ClaimedHere’s my excerpt from Claimed – Book 1 a paranormal romance

Inviting waves lapped at the pebbled shore. Farther out,
rapids crested, and the darkened deep waters gave her shivers. She couldn’t swim. Not since she was three had she waded out in water deeper than her thighs and not until after years of therapy. So wading along the edge would have to do.

After removing her shirt and pants, Renee laid them over her canteen, but kept her underwear and bra on. She waded in until the cool water covered her shins, then she brought handfuls of water up to splash her arms and her neck.
A man called out, “You’re up early.”
She spun around with a gasp and clasped her arms to shield
her body. “Damon?”
His chuckle made her stomach flip. He was dressed in pale
blue swim trunks. Not even a towel hung around his neck. Golden
hair trailed down his lower abdomen and disappeared below the band
on his swimsuit as if pointing the way.
“I came here to get cleaned up.” Stop staring at his— “But I’m
done so it’s all yours.”
“You’ve barely washed.” His stare heated her. “How about a
swim? With me.” He held out his hand, and she blinked not realizing
he stood so close to her.

My Sexy Stranger ~ @MySexySaturday #MySexySaturday #MySexyAuthors #Saturday7 #MSS172

Her lips parted, her tongue moistening them, and his nature
roared in his ears to take her. Clenching his fist, he used all his
strength to wait for her nod and carry her back to the rocky coast
rather than devour her mouth with his.
After he set her on the rocks, she scrambled away from the
water’s edge.
“Don’t forget your promise,” he teased, but he couldn’t help
it. Any more staring at the blush on her cheeks and chest and he’d
forget his vow and claim her. Even her erect nipples straining against
her wet lace bra made him dig his nails into his palms.
She huffed and snatched up her towel. Thankfully, it reached
just below her butt, leaving her long legs exposed for his admiration.
Then she batted her eyelashes at him. “I would never give you the
satisfaction.”
“Of which?” He beamed. “Drowning or bathing?”
“Both.” She inserted the corner of towel between her breasts,
locking the rest of it around her, and then grabbed her canteen. “Uh,
thank you for saving me.” She shivered, and he doubted it was
merely from the dunk in the water. “Please don’t tell the others; it’s
embarrassing.”
After his nod, she breathed out a sigh. She looked as if she
anticipated that he would haul her back into the water for a lesson.
Her movements reminded him of abused animals. He speculated
most people, who couldn’t swim but grew up around water, would
try to learn unless they experienced drowning or trauma in the past.
Could that have happened to her? There was more to this situation
than her usual stubbornness. Vulnerability even.

Our Sexy Vacation ~ @MySexySaturday #MySexySaturday #MySexyAuthors #Saturday7 #MSS137

My Sexy Saturday Page Header #3

My sexist vacation, so far, was when my husband and I won tickets to Hawaii. One day though, I’d like to travel further like my character Renee to Turkey and see the ancient ruins.

If you desire a letter of recommendation to host your own expedition, Renee, you’ll get off your ass and be ready to leave for the hot air balloon ride.”
She glared. If she’d been a gorgon, he’d be stone.
“If I do this,” her amber eyes glinted in the sunlight, “you will not only give me an honest recommendation, but Cynthia’s personal number so I may call her myself. Then Travis takes me into town as soon as he arrives.”
“Done.” He grinned. “Now clean up before I add more than a balloon ride to my side of the costs.”Image result for hot air balloons over cappadocia
An hour later, the balloons arrived. Carla and Renee were in one, the other members of his team divided among the other three. He guessed it wasn’t Renee’s choice for him to ride with them, but too bad. The other baskets were full.
“Ready sir?” the balloon operator asked.
Damon hopped over the rim. “Let’s go.”
The hiss of the gas made the basket lurch as the operator flipped on the burner. Renee’s stance softened as the ground drifted away. Carla grasped the side of the basket and began to talk nonstop to the operator.
“Have you ever been on a balloon ride before?” Damon asked Renee.
“No.”
They pulled away from camp, the tops of the trees drifting away below them.
“Then I guess it’s good I ordered the ceremonial champagne.” When she arched an eyebrow, he held his hands. “It’s tradition; first balloon ride calls for a glass of champagne. Not my rules, right operator?”
“Yes, sir.”
“You probably paid him to say that.”
“No, he’s telling the truth.” Carla came up beside her. “I’ve flown once with my cousin.”
“How much did you have to pay Carla?” Renee asked.
Damon laughed as he dug through the picnic basket and drew out the plastic champagne glasses. “We’ll wait until we are over the fairy chimneys then we’ll have our toast.”
If they rode in balloon alone, he might have been too tempted to kiss her. That kind of thinking was dangerous.
